Eliminate foods you know trigger your symptoms of heartburn. Follow an acid reflux diet. Foods and drinks to avoid include: Fried foods, spicy foods, onions, citrus fruits, all alcoholic drinks and sodas or carbonated drinks.
Eat several small meals a day instead of three large meals. Smaller meals should be eaten through out the day, this will help reduce heartburn.
Keep upright after eating. Do no lay down after a meal. Laying down after meals allows stomach acids to enter the esophagus.
